Shooting ranges shut down in Maryland

Yesterday I visited my Gun Smith, Bob Green to pick up my 6 PPC. Bob fixed my trigger and put on a barrel tuner. As usual he took the time to answer my questions and offer his advice.

I was all set to go to the range today and run some tests. As I do not have a private range I can join near me, I am forced to go to the state and county public ranges. I was somewhat concerned, that the range would be closed, I did some checking and found that sure enough, all ranges in the public sector are closed.

Damn, my main source of entertainment is now not available to me. I can't even reload for this rifle as I must find out if what I already have prepared works.

Why do I feel so down in the dumps over this? Alas, I will be forced to visit that big room, in the front of the house and see what that strange woman watches on TV. I wonder what language she speaks.

Good quality reloading time.

If you want to make a trip to Charlottesville VA, my range is still open to members but there will be no sanctioned functions for a while. The 300 yard range bench is about 15 yards away from any other shooters. I'm heading there on Tuesday.

Also I had my wife read your post as I'm sure she can relate to the last paragraph. She got a chuckle out of it.

I’m not so sure about that, maybe just in your neck of the woods in maryland. Far western maryland has ranged and I don’t think they are shut down

My two club's ranges are still open here in Eastern PA but all meetings, matches, and other events have been cancelled. If the virus cases continue to rise which every expert is predicting then I expect a "lockdown / shelter in place" from the Governor.

If this happens I plan to work on my dry firing to keep my skills sharp in case I'm able to hunt ghogs this summer.

My local outdoor range in Northern CA closed Monday. Not trying to make a political statement here, but it's the one place out here where I can get away from the lib crazies and have normal conversations with folks.

I know it's probably for the best, but this is going to be a trying time....

Strange, why close a shooting range. Seems like folks could shoot every @ 3rd bench? Bob makes nice rifles. Good luck w that situation-sounds frustrating. my range is open (pic from last year). go west, young man!
