Shooting Ranges In The Fredericksburg Texas Area?

A good friend, Dan Blair, is moving to Fredericksburg soon, and asked me to inquire about Ranges in the area.

Dan is an avid shooter who has been involved in UBR for the past decade.

There is the Dietz Range NW of New Braunfels, but that is a pretty good drive.

Here's a range probably an hour away. I've shot my magnums there a few times since they offered it to the public.

Hi Ken! I have spent some time there. It’s a good 25, 50, 100 yard range. They have a longer range for 2, 3, 4 and maybe 500 yard but I haven’t shot on it. You have to talk to the owner, get special permission and prove your ability to hit the targets. I have seen a mix of newbies and dedicated shooters, like most ranges. They have nice concrete covered benches, a nice separate pistol range and a porta potty. The range officers are nice and knowledgeable.
I don’t know if they have any organized matches, but I haven’t looked for them. I don’t have the time. They do have an extensive Skeet/trap set up and support the local collegiate shooters. I see a LOT of nice kids with their shotguns there.
The 100 yard range is on top of a hill with little protection from the seemingly constant easterly winds. Some days, it’s gusting to 25 and pulling my targets off the backer.
One of the reasons I’m building my own private range in a protected valley, 1/2 mile from my house!

There is a range in Bandera, it is some what of a drive but a very nice drive.
@JoeDuke maybe of some assistance. He is in Utopia and puts on some shoots I believe. He did an IceBox Match when I was in Texas.
