Shooting light short bullets in Chamber cut for LONG VLD's

I have a 28 nosler throated long for 195vlds. My OAL is 3.70 per se. I had to buy some 150gr e-tip loaded ammo a while back as brass was out of stock. Its a totally different bullet shape compared to the stretched out VLD's but I measured them and the OAL are around 3.30.

I was going to use them to break in my barrel and for fowlers but thought i'd see if there was a concern with shooting these rounds in the long throated chamber. Don't want to do anything stupid here by being lazy when I can pull the bullet etc and reload with my 195's.

Thanks

Nothing untoward will happen. Bad things happen can happen when you jam bullets, long freebore doesn't cause safety problems (may cause accuracy problems, but solids usually like a longer freebore).

Don't worry about the over all length. If you have the equipment, measure the ogive to base length. You may not be jumping the bullets as far as you think.
