Shooting Bunny hugger

Preacher

My niece that I've never met flew in from the west coast and came up to visit and when she saw a few of my full blown varmint rifles wanted to shoot one.
She did a super job even if she is a bunny hugger...
Pulled the 1-1/2 ounce Jewell on a few fired cases to check out the trigger and then got in behind the gun and put 3 shots into a 350 yard target that had a 1 inch circle stamped on it... I don't want her shooting at me :D

Could you give us a little more information?

How old is this lovely niece? Where does she live? West Coast is big; she could live in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska. And she can shoot; what more is there to like?

Now the rifle: Who does a crown like that? It looks like a lot of work.

My grand daughter loves to shoot also. It is great to get them out there. She is 17 now, started at 12. My daughter and 1st grand son are the same way. Best days on the range is with them just not often enough.

She is 41 and is a assistant movie director in LA.
Never been married but came close one time, and no kids to deal with...
I cut the crown on the Harrells brake and did the chamber work on the 7.5 twist 30' Krieger 6x47 Lapua, in a 3 lug BAT action, it shoots the 108 Bergers very well...
Joel Russo did the stock inletting and I tweaked that and then did the Auto clear coat..

It must run in the family. Very nice job preacher and keep up the good work. She is a cute little thing and would be a welcome addition to the shooting community. Would've guessed her for more like 29. Hope she takes a shine to shooting regardless of where she is from. We need more like her. If she wants to try her hand at 600 and 1000 yards let us know, we can arrange it.

Mason--- We all know I use that many rings on 99% of my rifles and hunting pistols just because I like em, and if I ever need a extra pair I know where to find em really quick :D

If your niece is interested in shooting in Southern California, Preacher-

you can refer her to the Ojai Valley Gun Club.

We have a monthly 600 yd match, and we have bunnies.

Sometimes it's hard not to run over them on the drive up Rose Valley.

I'm glad to see that she's what I would call an 'Enlightened' feminist: I believe it's admirable to be able to control and use the world around us.

And I certainly like your chambering.

Although I'm surprised by the 1:7.5 twist.

Do you think the 108 will shot as accurately with this twist as it does the 1:8?

Best,

RBD

RBD--
I'll be sure to let her know about that as soon as I hear from her again...
She seemed very interested in the whys and hows about it all...
She wanted to shoot my newest 7mm SAUM AI rifle but the rain didn't allow that...
It didn't seem to bother her in the least that it was a bit bigger case and her father said it would bite a little, she still was chomping at the bit about it, so don't be a bit surprised if she shows up hunting for you one of these days...

As far as the 7.5 twist goes, I bought that barrel off this site from the well known Blue Eyed Bear and have never shot this chambering out of a 8 twist YET !!!!!!!

This particular 30' 6-6.5x47 has shot some wallet groups that will blow your mind, and has a center to center average of .770 at 350 yards with the 108 Bergers..
Thats as far as my private range stretches out to ....

Lynn-- Yes I did the finger grooves, not much else to do to one of Russo's stocks other than a inlay or 2 if I'm really bored...
