Shooting at Connaught Ranges in 2015

Hi all!

I wanted to start this thread for those of you who may be looking to come up to shoot at Connaught this summer. We have 2 major F-Class shoots every summer, which are the Eastern F-Class Championships in July, and the Canadian F-Class National Championships in August.

The Eastern F-Class Championships are a smaller regional shoot that boasts a highly competitive field, and runs July 9th-12th this year. Event info can be found at www.easternfclass.ca

The Canadian F-Class Nationals run from August 13th-15th and bring together the best shooters from across Canada, as well as many from the US. This year we are also expecting a good size group from the UK. Information and entry forms should be available at www.dcra.ca/shooting.php sometime in the next couple of weeks.

These 2 events represent the only opportunities this summer for those who might be looking to come and experience the range before the 2017 FCWC, so hopefully we'll see you up here!

If you've got any questions on either event please post them here or send me a PM.

Cheers,

Scott

It is a really great match. Wonderful hosts and an incredible range.

The only disappointment was the lack of silver and bronze medals for second and third place winners. Are there any plans to have those medals this year?

Shiraz,

Thanks for the kind words! As I'm sure you are aware there are a lot of people who put in a great deal of effort in order to put these matches on. It's always nice to hear that it is appreciated

The unfortunate oversight with regards to medals last year will not be repeated, and medals were subsequently sent out to the 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Can we expect you back to defend your title this year?

All the best,

Scott

Scotty - thanks! I love pair firing as it forces you to read the condition for every shot. Then it rains, makes the flags heavy and you dope off the other shooter's shots. Love it!

Certainly thinking about coming if I can get away.

Yes, I know there is a huge bullseye on my back. Hahahahaha

Shiraz,
Not to worry about the rain this year. Scott has arranged for the more usual sunshine and WARM weather unlike that of last summer.
You know you and all that want to make the trip will be made welcome.
Hope you can come.
Regards
Gord O

I'm glad to hear there will be silver or bronze for Shiraz. Lol I'm applying for a passport next week. See you in Aug !! Looking forward to seeing Canada for my first time.

For those that have not been to this range, you must go. One of the most challenging and beautiful ranges in the world, and the matches run flawlessly

Mike - I guess I better start practicing!

Gord - hope you are feeling better. If I come, I'll be doing a rain dance for some Pacific NW weather :). This time I will bring some Gore-Tex waterproof socks.

Rain, Rain and more Rain. Lots of good food, good beer and good times. I will be back.
