Shooting 300 SAUM Brass necked down to 7mmSAUM

Pro and con or is it GTG?
Hear stories of carbon ring buildup,shorter neck? Thanks in advance for any info.

You will ALWAYS get a carbon ring, no matter the cartridge, if the proper cleaning regimen is not employed. Conversely, you will NEVER get a carbon ring if the proper cleaning regimen is used! And I use .300 SAUM brass necked down.

+1 norma 300Saum necked down and even Rem 300 necked down. Haven't done it in a while; but 300-7mm makes necks longer not shorter; trimming to even up; can't recall how much needed to get back to minimum.

I neck .300SAUM brass down & turn it @ .284, then proceed the rest of the way down to .264 for my 6.5SAUM 4s.
No worries...

Why not just buy 7mm saum brass??

I picked the 7saum over the 7wsm for the longer neck so it wouldn't be worth it to me use 300saum brass if the neck ends up being shorter. But if what Mac says is true its not an issue then.

300 SAUM Brass is a lot easier

My LGS had 300 SAUM brass not any 7mmSAUM BRASS.
