Shooting 21 Sharp from a 22lr Rifle

Well I couldn't find any all copper 22 lr rounds anywhere, but my local mom and pop gun store said they just got some 21 sharp rounds in. They said while it may not be quite as accurate it should work fine in my 22lr rifle. I took some shots with them as I was finishing up my range session and I couldn't even get on paper at about 40 yards. It was getting dark so I had to pack it up and couldnt shoot any closer range shots to see poi. Has anyone tried this with any luck? I have a CZ 457 and it's a match barrel with pretty tight tolerances, I use a 17 cal jag and brush to clean. Was thinking this might actually work out OK but so far I'm thinking I might if just wasted 30 bucks.

The 21 sharp bullet diameter is about .015 smaller in diameter than a .22 rimfire I believe. That wouldn’t make for very good accuracy as you have already found.

I don't think I would ask those store owners for advice anymore.
Yeah leaning that way! Since its not unsafe, I'll take some 10 yard shots to get on paper again and move back from there. There's still a possibility it's just a massive poi shift. Unfortunately it's hard to find copper 22 lr rounds right now so this would of been a nice alternative.

The 21 Sharp has a bullet diameter of .2105", 22lr. Barrels will be in the approx. Area of .218" to the lands. I highly doubt you will just get a POI change. More like a pattern change.
