Shooter's Corner????

Has anyone been able to contact Bob White at Shooters corner in the last few weeks? Last week tried many times and got busy signal every time. This week phone rings and goes to an answer phone that gives no reference to who's phone it is, I would think it would say Shooter's Corner at some point in the recorded message. He has always been super prompt in answering messages and sending products in the past. I hope all is well with him and family.

What's everyone's experience been with Shooters Corner? I don't know Mr. White so not trying to cast stones, but I reached out to him a couple of years back trying to buy probably $200-$300 in random items from his list and never got a response. Sent a similar email a few months later as a follow-up and got a short response with not much content or friendliness.

In looking at the List I've found a few used bench rifles I was interested in but if you can't be friendly with my $200 I'm definitely not sending you $1200-$2000.

Every time I think about looking through the Lists I remember that experience.

Bob & Edna are some super nice folks but getting up there age wise. As many of us older folks are, I'm sure that his modern age communication skills are a bit behind the times. Best way to do business is probably by phone. Just FYI Bob is a past president of IBS and they have dedicated countless hours to the BR sport. Wait a couple days after the nationals are over and try calling him again. He does have a lot of good stuff, usually at good prices and I'm sure he would be glad to advise and help you any way he can once y'all connect.

Bought a 6PPC Remington xp, Remington 40X in222, and a 6PPC 40X to Bob a few years ago. Also a number of Leupold scopes at very fair prices. Enjoyed doing business with him. Everything well packed, on time, and as advertised. Would not hesitate to buy from him again. Hope he is well.

I agree with SmokinJoe wholeheartedly. Bob & Edna have adapted to using computers, email, etc, but I’m certain they prefer the simplicity of phone calls. Having said that, Edna frequently answers Bob’s emails for him. If they don’t answer the phone, try email. I find that it is better to call in the morning.
They have both been very good to me, and I have purchased countless items from them with great success, and satisfaction. They are good honest people. It is entirely plausible that they are away, or similar.

Peter.

They don't come any nicer and more knowledgeable than Bob and Edna.

Bob is a class act. I used to shoot with him at the Cherry Ridge range in NJ.
He taught me a lot about benchrest shooting and reloading. Bought my benchrest gun from him. He has good prices on used rigs, when starting out it's much cheaper and faster to go with a good used rig then try to build one from scratch. Shooters Corner also does excellent gunsmithing work. Now that I moved to SC I still send him my F Class barrels for chambering. I have always contacted him by phone and usually didn't have a problem getting him.
The one thing I have never been able to do is beat him at a benchrest match!

I stop in and see Bob and Edna regularly and pre-pandemic went to three of their Bench Rest Seminars and clinics. Edna usually responses to e-mails to Bob. Bob has had some medical issues, but I think is doing well now. When he away at a shoot he is hard to track down, but if you keep at it, you will get him. The web site is not updated all that often, so I just stop in or call. It is amazing how much inventory he has squired away there.
