Shooter integrity.

Just back in town & found several interesting cardboard boxes on doorstep - maybe you know that feeling.

All from guys I probably will never meet, who I sent hundreds of $ to, and all of whom followed thru in delivery faster than seemed possible.

And to top it off, Harris engineering (Bipods) returned the bipod I crunched in a fall (ouch) , sent to them for repair, returned in JUST 1 week, no charge.

...AND my Bruno's shipment of .308 Lapua brass was in the mix... I only wish the rest of the people in this great country had the same standards & integrity as Riflemen I have dealt with.

+1 CTshooter. I bought a Bushnell Elite scope from a guy on the forums a few years ago. We don't know each other from Adam, but he obviously shipped the scope before he received my payment. I've had other similar experiences buying off of the shooting forums. Can't blame a guy for waiting for payment before shipping something, but when they put their trust in you and ship it straight away, it makes you feel good to be dealing with folks in our fraternity.

I have had similar experiences. I started shooting smallbore as a teenager. I was overwhelmed by the support people gave in helping me shoot better. I was offered good quality equipment at low prices. I was offered the use of better quality equipment by people who I had never met. Even today, when at a match, I notice how very expensive firearms and equipment are left unattended by the owners, all knowing that when they return, all of their property will be in the same place where they left their firearms and equipment. Yes, shooters are a cut above the rest of society.

I shouldnt say this but here goes,I have never had one bad deal where the product didnt show up.I am blessed to have the friends I have made on this forum.

just re-read my post.. gee sounds like I am putting down alot of other people, whoops.

especially appreciate knowing "a deal is a deal" means something. guess i am biased, too :).

Actually every deal, be I the buyer or seller, on this site has exceeded any expectation I ever could have had. Sort of renews your faith in people to a new level. When I was the buyer I know that some items were shipped to me before the seller ever got my check never mind waiting for it to clear. It still astounds be how thoughtful people can be.

Just nice to see that there are still people out there that care about honesty and integrity. Have had almost all perfect deals on forums.

Now that this became a post on Shooter integrity,i have to share a really good story, first off i am so blessed to be on a forum with such classy folks like this forum has,my best encounter with a total stranger on here is a fella that was selling a 6mm ppc on here and it was exactly what i wanted at the time that i had the money to buy a high end benchgun,my first one at that,i posted back that i would take it,after a day this fella got back to me and said this isn,t the gun your looking for because it won,t make weight in light varmint class because of the stock,i thanked him and start looking elsewhere when he contacted me back and told me his shooting partner was selling a 6 ppc, again i said i would be interested in it,his buddy contacted me and when giving it a few days of thought,i kinda realized it was a bit high on price for a older action that it had so i turned it down,i am not the kinda guy that goes back on my word but i was so overwhelmed with the fact that i finally had the funds to buy a used high end benchgun at the age of 59 that i just wanted to make the right purchase for the money that i had to work with so i called this fella back and told him that i hoped his friend wasn,t mad at me for backing off on buying his gun and said that's wasn't a problem, the next day this fella got a hold of me and said he found a 6 ppc on the classified at benchrest.com,i was so amazed at what this stranger was trying to do for me helping me get my first quality benchgun,i got ahold of the fella that was selling the gun on benchrest.com and he said it was sold but forgot to mark it on his post, the fella that told me this gun was sold said his shooting buddy had one that wasn,t listed anywhere but wanted to sell it,and i that is where my purchase of of 6 ppc ended,i met alot of nice fellas here on the forum for the short time since i joined last year, but this fella became a true friend who i don,t even no and i just want to personally thank one of our members by the name of jfesi from Missouri for being a new friend that i don,t even no what he looks like

Thank you Sir for reaching out to me when you didn,t even no me

Just recieved a custom rear shooting bag from Jim Pleightal of Ultra fabric bags with the invoice in the box. He sent me this in pure trust that I would pay. I did immediately but want to say that the integrity of Jim and other folks here and in the shooting sports is beyond anything I've experienced in the so called "real world". I've also had several dealings with others like some described above with guys here and it leaves me with a great feeling of honor and gratitude to be among you great folks. The people make the sport.
Thanks all.

I would add that in all my cases, I have always sent the items that I sell prior to receiving payment. I may get burnt someday, but so far I am glad to say I am dealing with people of class. I also feel that if I am selling something to someone, they either want it or need it more than me at the moment. Since I am not in the business of buying and selling, I have no fear of 'losing' something.

Now having said that, I confess that I recently had to back out of a purchase due to an unexpected bill that popped up. I apologized several times, and to the best of my knowledge that was it. I was then outed by name by the seller as being less than whatever. I'll live with it I suppose, and I did actually back out of the deal. I guess I earned it to some degree, but I sure wish it hadn't happened that way. Lesson learned I suppose.

Lots of Truth in this thread.

I'll add that I've been pleasantly surprised at the responses the the WantToBuy ads I've placed.
In EVERY case I've found what I needed and at a very fair price.

Things like this are what makes this less like a web-forum and more like a community.

Thanks to all who participate in this give and take.

I will second that, I think 99.99% of the persons involved in firearms transactions are good to deal with !!!!

Ah, this is all good to read. I have learned so much reading posts on this forum-
so many go above and beyond. I think the golden rule lives on, I sure have been the recipient many times over. Lots of very knowledgable folks saving guys a lot of time and heartache with their direct knowledge of shooting & reloading. :)
And when was the last time you sent $ hundreds to a stranger, based on a hunch...

I have to add that few years back, Europtics in PA...when I bought a scope from them, Alex (owner) would send you a $700 Zeiss scope, and you (me) were to mail payment, let me tell you, I sent in every penny immediately. Don't think that is possible now, but made my day...

I've only been here a few months, bought a couple of things, had help with finding parts, talked with some very helpful people. Still amazed at how things popped up when I needed them. The reason for this post is to say that I am more than happy to support this great site to help it keep going. Just saying. Thanks Guys :)
