Shipping loaded ammo-current regs

It's been a couple of years since I have needed to ship ammo and I find that the regs seem to have changed. I know I can't use USPS, so let's not waste time on that. The ORM-D labeling has apparently been discontinued, but looking on both UPS and FedEx sites, the info is confusing. Can anyone who has shipped ammo in the past year help me through the fog?

I've shipped ammo twice since ORM-D went away. At the UPS Customer Service counter only NOT a UPS franchise store. Box must have the new diamond symbol that replaced ORM-D on the exterior. Simple.

That is helpful. I found what I needed on the UPS site, but then I knew what to ask FedEx. I think I have it now. Much appreciated.

Forgot to mention, UPS also requires adult signature on delivery.

So a diamond sticker is what folks are making such a fuss about for shipping ammo?

On a more local forum I frequent guys are making a huge deal about, I won’t ship, don’t even ask, to much of a hassle, people who ask for shipping will be ignored or is an idiot. Things like that….

Where did you get the new diamond label?

I fold a piece of white printer paper in half and draw it with a black sharpie

Spoke with a FedEx person who is in the Dangerous Goods dept. Got all the info I needed. Found an online site to create a label. Took a few tries to size it correctly. No problem and I used another FedEx sticker to do it. Only real hassle is that I can't drop it off. Must be picked up by FedEx. That's probably OK too as I would have had to make a twenty mile round trip to the FedEx Customer Center. Will have it picked up tomorrow.
