Shilen trigger not sure??

I have a Shilen trigger here at the house that i am going to use on a build. I bought this trigger and it is not new but in excellent shape and is set up with a safety and bolt release. After digging it out for the build i am having second thoughts as to whether it is the hunting model. I am wondering if this trigger i bought is actually the bench rest model. I was researching and came across a video i think from Brownells about the hunter model. I also remember the 1 i bought at Brunos a while back had the nuts on the screws. Anyhow, while watching the video i paused it and my trigger does not have the nuts on the adjusting screws and the side plates on mine does not have all the small holes as the hunting trigger showed in the photo. Mine does have Shilen written on the bolt release side about half way up in the center of the plate. Maybe this is a old model and not sure. I will get some pictures up here and hopefully someone will know. If it is the benchrest model i will need to order another trigger.

Here are some pics:

Not sure if the stuff on the screws is factory or something put their by someone else.

Dan,
I didn't think the benchrest models had safetys. None of my benchrest triggers including Shilens have safetys.

So far that sounds reassuring. Are you saying the Shilen benchrest model has no provisions to add a safety to it?

That trigger doesnt look a thing like the shilen, call them and send them pics.It looks like a fake to me unless they modified factory triggers. It looks exactly like a remington older trigger.

According to the link, the standard Shilen trigger does not come with a safety but one has to transfer the safety. Theres a pic of a Shilen trigger for sale in the classifieds and it does not look like yours.

It has Shilen stamped in the side plate. I do not think someone is producing and bootlegging look alike Shilen triggers. ;D This may be a very old trigger.

Anybody put a Shilen trigger on a Rem700 that has new X-mark trigger. I read you have to get a aftermarket safety and bolt release because the X-mark safety and bolt release is not compatible with the Shilen trigger. How hard is it to install and does it function good? or should i go with a jewell. I read if u need a 4-8 ounce trigger then go with jewell and if u need a 1-2 pound trigger for a hunting rifle then go with the Shilen. The shilen is $100+ cheaper so thats why i ask.

^^^^^Get the HVR Jewell if you want the best of both worlds. They have alot of ajustability in the weight department.
