1st post guys
My new groundhog gun.....the basics:
-Shilen DGR action (Stiller Predator)
-Shilen 1:8 twist .243 win. 26" barrel
-Northland Shooter Supply barrel lug and nut
-Timney Calvin Elite Trigger
-HS Precision stock glass bedded around recoil lug (anyone who thinks a aluminum bedding block is perfect is wrong)
-Shilen 20 moa scope base
-Seekins rings
-Sightron 8-32*56 with lrmoa (awesome scope)
-Cheap Blackhawk cheek pad
Also used an extended Wyatt's box magazine and follower (Might just be me, but has taken a considerable amount of fitting and polishing/buffing to get to work almost remotely acceptable). Needless to say I'm not pleased.
As far as the action goes, I am pleased. It is smooth, and beautifully machined. Extraction and ejection is not 100%. More so on the negative than positive. Been enjoying shooting and having really messed with it too much. Shoot mainly single shot anyway.
Currently has 6 groundhogs under it's belt, longest at 350 yards. Need to work up a load with 105 gr amax. Currently using a previous 243 load with 70 gr Nosler BT's at 3465 fps.
3 shot group at 100 yards attached shot from bed of truck prone off bipods. I know three shot groups don't count. Vertical stringing is clearly me.
Now for pics.
