Shilen DGA bolt face

Well, I'm having a hard time getting an answer about opening the bolt face of this Shilen DGA action being they quit production 20+ years ago. Customer wants to open the bolt face up from a 223 size to a 243 size. Problem is, the extractor is not going to let me be able to use it in said location because of opening the bolt face up. Any ideas or quick fixes most appreciated. Thanks, Todd DuBose

I have opened up a 223 to 308, you will need to modify the existing extractor claw, not a huge drama just don't take off too much as they're no longer available. Another thing the bolt is very hard, you'll need to use quality carbide tips, and depending on the caliber you may as well bush the bolt and turn down the firing pin.
