i have two of these and have had a problem with both. one esp will not work! pull with 10 lb and the 2 oz will not go bang. lift the bolt and...BANG! scared the crap out of me the first time. took it to my gsmith and flushed it with air and some magic and it worked...for awhile, then back to not working. i flushed it with almost a can of lighter fluid and a lot of air...no luck. so what to do? if it won't work dry, see if it will wet...hosed it good with a thick gun oil i make and SHAZAM...it works! i know triggers and oil aren't supposed to meet, but for whatever reason this combo works for this one. question...am i doing anything bad for this trigger? thus far this gun is only shot off the bench and when it failed i retired it. i dry fire 5-10 times now and it works. most will say to replace, but do some triggers need to be wet and do fine? thanks.

I would either return that to the manufacturer - or drive over it with a bulldozer track before someone gets hurt!

Sounds to me like there is a bur somewere inside. The problem with using oil is that it collects dirt. I have read a post wher Jack Neary (Benchrest hall of famer.) takes apart Jewell trigger, and when he put them togeather he uses a"light oil" on all the parts, (And puts a plug out for TM oil.) also in the article he doesn't recamend using lighter fluid. Some people lubicate triggers with graphite. I personaly only use lighter fluid, and bolw them dry.

There is a problem that some people have with the Shilen trigger and that is there is a little spring that sits between the top, and middle lever, the trigger will function with that spring missing, or broke. Take the trigger out of the gun, and check that spring. It seams that it is easy to loose that spring.

You may want to contact Shilen as I have also read that Shhilen trigger are warenteed for life.

And over travel. If it hasn't enough it'll be bound up, possibly when it has the main spring load on it. Introduce enough "accumulation of tolerances" and............

I think you would be a fool not to send them to Shilen, unless you fouled them up and are embarrassed about it. I'll guarantee they will fix it in any case.

If I had a couple Jubilee triggers that weren't up to snuff and did want a Chugilee trigger, I would do what I could to bring the Jubilees up to snuff so I could get money to buy the Chugilee trigger. I wouldn't have the money to put them in the junkbox and just buy the other.

I've had two Shilen 2oz triggers fail . I sent both of them back and got brand new ones in return . Both had broken levers inside . I sold the new ones I got back and replaced them with Jewells , one of which failed and Jewell repaired and returned after charging me a small fee to repair ( a handling fee that they thought wasn't a charge to repair the trigger , really !) . I bought a new Jewell recently for my 700 varmint rifle , and I had to grind down the sides of the trigger so it would fit my action . I called Jewell and they of course said " send it back " . I don't know about you guys but I have better things to do with my time than to send brand new items back to their manufacturers . Where's the quality !??
