Shell holders

Greetings,
Who has / makes precision fit shell holders?? I hate the slop when priming!! I have 21st Century, and Lee for my 21st Century priming tool.
Thank you
John

Try the Frankford Arsenal Platinum priming tool. By far the best bang for your buck. Comes with LRP and SRP plungers, all the shell holders needed to do cases from 22 hornet to 338 Lapua, a good quality tray that flips the primers upright very well, and a nice case to keep everything organized. Swapping plungers and shell holders is quick and easy. Has a primer seating depth adjustment dial to make sure all primers are seated at the same exact depth in the pocket without being crushed. Very heavy duty construction that will last a lifetime. Been using mine for over a year now and it performs flawlessly. Cant beat it.

The depth dial has nice clicks in .001" increments. My only gripe is that the dial does not have graduation markings so its tricky to set the same depth on different cartridges after priming other brass and coming back to a particular round. Need to make marks on the dial yourself.

My sinclair priming tool locks the shellholder and brass in place. I use that shell holder for turning necks and trimming brass with my PMA tools too.

Not sure what you are saying. Are you using Lee shellholders with your 21st Century priming tool? I'm using the 21st Century tool with the 21st Century shellholders, and think they provide a very good fit. I must not understand.

im guessing he means Johns first hand priming tools used the old round Lee priming trays. John sent me one to try and I immediately ordered another.

Greetings,
Clarification. I have a 21st Century tool that uses the square Lee trays and Lee shell holders. Both the Lee and 21st Century shell holders have quite a bit of slop, allowing the case to move around during priming.
I'll look at the ones that lock the case and shell holders down.
Take care,
John

Well first off there are no plastic parts to break it comes with every shell holder you would possibly need I think there’s 10 or 12 without opening a box and looking right this moment the small and large primers you can switch all the stuff out and seconds with only your thumb and I just saw an ad where they were on sale for $68 on this post it also uses a loading tray you are not doing the primers one at a time with my fingers that would be very tough also the way you squeeze it you’re not using your thumb as much as all your fingers and your hand I have arthritis and I can do 100 rounds with no problem it’s just about everything you could possibly want in a hand primer to learn more you just have to try it I’m promise you won’t regret it Almost forgot it has a click adjustable setting for primer depth so all your primers will be set the same

I may consider that Frankford as well. I prime on the press with the Lee safety prime system but it gets aggravating when you're down to the last 2 or 3 primers and they wont go into the cup.

Also been looking at RCBS bench prime tool. It looks like a really nice tool as well but is just over $100 for a priming tool. I'm not 100% thrilled with primer tubes either.

Go with the Frankford, you won't be disappointed. Very heavy duty kit and works flawlessly.

I'm actually thinking about buying another one.

Agreed. It's a complete system. Has everything you need, even shell holder for PPC. Theres also a laminated chart in the case that tells you what types of cases each shell holder works for.

The tool is a Beast! Super heavy duty build. Put som good oil or grease on the moving parts and shes smooth as butter. I cant imagine how a person could ever break it or wear it out.

Frankford has been doing a heck of a job lately with their Platinum line of gear. I have also used a Frankford case cleaning vibratory tumbler for about 7 years now. Works perfectly without ever giving me a single issue and its way quieter than other vibratory tumblers I've had in the past.
