Exactly. That's why each of my die sets have designated shellholders even when they (in theory) use the same one.I don't consider shellholders to be interchangeable, you could see several thousandth difference in sizing. Even if the same brand. Changing sh will probably require adjustment of the die.
Disallowed! One shell holder to rule them all? That's reasonable and makes sense, so it's scary and we need to be afraid!Virtually all of the cartridges that I load are for a .473 bolt face. Probably load those cartridges 90% of the time. I have ONE shell holder that is used on maybe 10 different sets of dies. I use dies from about 4-5 different companies. That shell holder has had .010" surface ground off the top to compensate for differences (manufacturing tolerances) from die to die. All dies are adjusted to that one shell holder. I get by just fine and have for years.
I had about 3 shell holders ground at the same time in case of a misplaced or torn up shell holder.
The only time I change the shell holder is if I am loading 223, belted mag, or 6.5x55 cases
Flame suit on.
Now don't make me have to block you too. <Insert F.Guffey comment here>

Oh innocent one - sometime between now and then - you will rip that spring loaded jaw thingy apart , and will bask in the knowledge you gained here ......Fix to the co-ax cr4ppy shell spring thingWhat's a shellholder? My Co-ax doesn't need them.![]()
Pffffffftt... Why would I want to readjust all of my dies again? My Co-ax says Bonanza on the upright & it's still working flawlessly. The jaws do get a bit sticky once or twice every year or so, but a good douching with brake kleen & some Rem-oil gets them slicker'n snake snot again.Oh innocent one - sometime between now and then - you will rip that spring loaded jaw thingy apart , and will bask in the knowledge you gained here ......Fix to the co-ax cr4ppy shell spring thing![]()
