Shade tree rest top?

I am thinking of ordering a top to fit my bald eagle rest. Anyone give me a honest review on them. Are they worth the money. Thanks

It's worth the price but if you can stand it, buy once and cry once. We typically waste money stepping over dollars to save a dime in this game, when ultimately, buying once is what we should've done in the first place. Tickled with my Raptor front rest...haven't had my hands on the new seb but the Raptor is a big step up from the neo or farley. The new seb does seem to be made much more like the Raptor. Completely different internals, from what I've read, that put the two as being very similar in design, internally. Both are a big step up in price too! You might look for a used Farley or Neo on here. Both are excellent but not what the new versions are. Firsthand info with the Raptor and by what I've read on the new seb neo x.

I still keep one as a back up. Made high master with one, and and would have no issue shooting it as a back up in any match. Plenty of other choices that work great, and upgrades are worth the price of admission in my opinion. Currently shooting the original T-Rex with no regrets.

I have gone through the same thing you are currently doing. I started with a plain Bald Eagle. Then moved to a shade tree top and thought it was a definite upgrade. Then I made the mistake of using a seb mini. I was blown away with the difference so that has lead me down the road of trying every rest I see. I really suggest you ask guys at the range or match if you can look at their rest and set your rifle in it and play around with it. All the time saving your money. Then buy the rest you are really happy with. I've spent a lot of money on rest only to "upgrade" later. And right now trying to talk myself out of buying another one that I like better.

Been there, done that too.
Started with the Bald Eagle rest, worked for awhile, then tried a Neo (wow)
What an upgrade. Won't ever go back. You won't be disappointed.
You'll start seeing more of the Neo's and older Raptor's start showing up for sale.
The new Raptor's and Neo X's are being delivered, so the older versions
will be for sale.
Not knocking the Shade Tree top.

Yes, it’s really good. I had one on a bald Eagle rest until I upgraded to a SEB Mini-X.

Overall I prefer the SEB but the Shadetree / Bald Eagle gives up nothing on quality. For shooting certain rifles I wish I still had the Shadetree.

Thanks for the info. I am gonna buy one

I also got a Shade tree for my BE. Later I purchased the joy stick for it and have never been happy with it. It has a ton of slop in it and at first, I thought I had assembled it wrong. This is the first and only rest I have owned with a joystick so I don't know if they are all like that. The actual top build is very good.

A tiny bit of static friction force to overcome the moment it first moves, but that's all. Perfectly tight.

My SEB joysticks are the same.

When did you notify me? Did I run you off??

I put one on my Bald Eagle. It worked o.k. It was not what I expected. I have never tried a Seb but I imagine it takes the big bucks to get good control. I missed the ability to hold the vertical constant while adjusting the windage. I sold the joystick top and went back to the Bald Eagle top with the independent windage & elevation adjustments. I have the windage knob mounted to the top (no cable) and have a Sinclaire speed screw for the elevation.
