Got a "new to me" farm tonight that is owned by the brother of another farm I have been hunting. First one I see scrambles to it's burrow from the long grass. I moved to a spot for a clear shot and wait and sure enough it reemerges. The 25 grain V-Max from my PacNor barreled Savage chambered in .17 Remington Fireball makes quick work of it from 70 yards.

After snapping the photo I move about 20 yards which brings a neighboring hay field into view. I see two feeding and setup my Tripod for a standing shot. Not a real steady setup for a 136 yard shot and I miss with the first shot but it stays put for a second and that was a big mistake!

Took a walk to investigate the surroundings and when returning I see one sitting up at 70 yards. While attempting to get the rifle on the collapsed tripod it makes for its burrow. I setup the tripod for a standing shot, waited for a couple of minutes, and back out it comes. Another big mistake!

I move up the fencerow 50 yards and spot movement. Turned out to be a brown piglet that got out of its fenced in area 75 yards to the East! It and another are working towards me so I figure I will take a picture to send to my friends as a joke. While waiting for them to pose this thing comes out of a hole not 7 yards from me!

I put the phone in my pocket, raise my rifle and center the brown blur(not the Pig!) in my 24X scope and let one rip.

I hung out for a bit watching the field I shot the second one in and spy one 130 yards down the fencerow. Had trouble holding it from the standing position and added a miss to my record.
Took another walk and saw one run for cover at 42 yards. Again I setup and wait. Like before it reemerges and is put in the bag!

As I am taking the photo I see another at 21 yards and put it down!

I worked over to watch another fencerow and spot this one at 259 yards. I assumed the sitting position and steadied with my Harris bipod then sent one.

At this time I had fired all the ammo in my pocket and as almost they knew that these three watched, from 10 yards for the close one and 20 for the further two, while I photo'ed the last!

Called it a night and brought my Season total to 60 with these. Needless to say I will be back here because evidence shows there are many more! 8)
