What a SUPER day for all there. Perfect weather with maybe the best performances by our IBS top shooters. How close? Well many gathered around the monitor screen right until the last shot was fired on the final relay. It was literally a tie going in with Tom Anderson, Seth and Mike Wooten literally tied up.

After the final shot it was Seth Wooten winning the Two Gun overall by 1 point. Look.

IMG_4802.jpeg

We saw a .7" group by Mike Wooten, New shooter Bob Rosenstein shooting a 194, a bunch of 50 pt targets, Seth with a 196, a group egg by Mike of 2.043" Closest to the X won a second day by Tom Anderson with our match director, Al Benarroch winning one also. The food again was spectacular. Seriously - this was an IBS event to cherish.

Mike Wooten won two $100 checks for score and age from Steve Krauss . Everyone won prizes as many sponsors, like VORTEX and Sightron donated major prizes. The prize table was to admire. Now who took the Florida State Championship after two full days of shooting?

Here he is with Al holding his new trophy. The one and only..... TOM ANDERSON - on the right with another unique shirt.

IMG_4785.jpeg

The trophy lights up with switching different colors. If you look at this link you will see it lit up a couple ways.

Now the top three shooters are showing off together. Tom took first, Seth Wooten (left) was second and Mike Wooten (right) took third. Here they are all together for you to see a trio of the finest 600 IBS shooters that exist today. IMG_4788.jpeg

Super thanks go out to the sponsors. Vortex, Sightron, local sponsors, Vapor Trail, Barts, Blue Collar Reloading, ....wait - I cannot come close to remembering them all.

Get on that link and look at the pictures. They say more than I can in print. Manatee put on a show that was applauded by all. Your turn to enjoy next year?

We made it back home, and back to work. I would like to thank everyone involved in making this shoot possible. Dad and I had a great time, and hope to see everyone again soon. CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Tom Anderson on being crowned the Florida 600 yard state champ! He had a great weekend, as well as a great year so far.

@Alibaba and @CaptainMal you guys done a great job, and ran 2 very good matches. Thanks for all y’all do, and keep up the good work.

Special thanks to Steve Krauss for his donation for the smallest group, and the highest score. The way gas prices and motel rooms are, the extra money sure does help out. THANK YOU SIR !

Think it can be informative to see the top shooters on the bench. You can learn a bit from the pictures on what they use and how they set-up. This is TOM ANDERSON in the foreground with Steve Hoskins to his left.

Here is Seth Wooten.

Now below is Mike Wooten.

Remember that many shooters have different rifles for light and heavy gun and the pictures are but one example of what they might be using.

I would like to offer up a huge THANK YOU to Vortex Optics for their significant generosity in supporting the prize table at this competition. I was very fortunate to receive the Viper HD Spotting Scope they donated ! Many other Vortex products were on the table. I am the proud owner of two Golden Eagle Scopes so this good fortune is especially appreciated.

Congratulations to both Mike and Seth on yet another great match. Both of you seem to pick up where you left off in 2021.
Hope to see you two soon.

I knew Seth was good - he even won the match a week early!
Look at the date on the trophy in the first picture.
Congratulations Seth, Mike, and all shooters.

Yeah I noticed that this morning when I getting all my stuff unpacked. Lol.

Thanks @andym686 hope all is well. Let me know when you are ready to start shooting 600 yard with us. We would be glad to have you !

Reason for the wrong dates on plaques we had to rescheduled the match and plaques were made 5 months in advance.
(They are not trophies they are Plaques.)
Thank you

So what happened was this. We first scheduled the matches the weekend of the 26th and 27th. Sent that in to the IBS and had all the awards made up. Then we were made aware of an issue for some shooters.

Over at Port Malabar they run what is called the "Orange Blossom". It is an NRA major event that runs three weeks of near daily shooting. Shooters go there for a week of events in different classes. My brother-in-law, Jack Bockman did not shoot with us because he is an "across the Course" sling shooter that whole week. Many more of us shoot F Class and it happens to be THIS week, ending next Sunday. We switched our weekends for shoots so shooters did not have to make a decision on which event to shoot. Now they can and will shoot both if they choose.

Normally we shoot Steel on the third weekend of the month and paper on the 4th. Since we have a commitment with the range to use it those Saturdays and on the Championship weekend Sunday also, we switched weekends. Darn trophies were already made before our switch.

Then, to prove we are human, I think we forgot. That means Seth and others were so good the won before they shot in the match ... according to the trophies. Goes to prove we are not half-fast but full fast.
