serial # location NF

My insurance company wants the serial # off of one of my old scopes. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why they didn't already have it. Now, I can't find it. Where on an older 12-42 BR scope is the serial #. I looked under the bottom of the scope and didn't see it. Now, to be honest, I didn't remove the scope, but it is a high mount and I used a flashlight. I don't want to remove the scope if I don't have to. Is that where it is?

It might be under the rear ring. I have a few old NF and they either had it under the rear ring (just in front of the ocular adjustment) or on the bottom of the saddle.

The scope is in my hand......there is no # anywhere. NF wouldn't be so stupid as to put the # on the main tube EXACTLY where the rings would go, would they?

It's under the rear tube. The front tube don't have anything marked. Check under your rear ring if you have rings on.
