Greetings all,
Currently i have a Sendero in .300 WM but i want to change calibers as i am a little recoil sensitive.
Firstly i thought of changing to the 6.5/284 but i believe i will have problems trying to get a new bolt as the 6.5/284 has smaller head spacing than the .300WM.
The other option i have thought of is to find a cartridge that has the same bolt head spacing as the .300WM so i was looking into the WSM cartridge range and came across an article in "Guns of the Week" on this site about a fellow shooter building a 7mm WSM for long distance shooting of which i read with great interest.
As i am a fan of 7mm projectiles,7x57 Mauser for deer) i feel the 7mm WSM will be a good choice from what i have gathered on the internet with slightly better performance in trajectory and higher B.C's pills on the market over the .300 WSM and less recoil.
What i would like to know is :
1. Can i change the Remington Sendero from .300 WM to 6.5/284?
2. What are peoples opinion of comparing the recoil between the .300 WM, .300 WSM & 7mm WSM and which out of the last two would be a better choice or would there be other cartridges that come to mind?
3. As the Sendero is a long action chambered for the .300 WM will i have any problems changing over to the 7mm WSM?
