Sellier & Bellot primers

Has anyone used these primers for accuracy loads in a rifle? How consistent are they? Cup hardness? Wanting to get an opinion here before I purchase a brick. Thanks

Jim

I used to shoot a lot of their pistol ammo and it was pretty darn good. I'd assume that the primers would be every bit as good as any other standard primer.

Just noticed a good supply of rifle primers on the local Cabela's shelf but didn't have the need so I didn't buy any.

Define "accuracy" load.

S&B makes as good a product as anyone, in my experience, but I have not heard of or seen a match primer from them.

I also was considering the S&B primers as they are available and rather inexpensive ($22/1000 at PV).

But a search here in this forum resulted in this thread, and I believe I will pass.

It is from 2009, but chances are that it still applies.

I bought these a couple years ago for my 243win. when I was running out of 210m, I subbed them in the load as the only change and the results were the same as the 210m's, the gun with me driving is still 1/2 to 3/8 capable and long range vertical still good. So for that load with 4831sc that is my new normal. thanks for the heads up on the good price on them at PV. I am not pushing that load real hard and have been happy with them.
