Seb Mini-X Adjustment?.........Seb

I picked up a new in-the-box Seb Mini-X from a friend and then ordered the counterweight from Ernie, which has arrived. I know the joystick should give you the same pressure/resistance in the up-and-down motion with the gun on the rest. I don't know how to properly ease the factory settings to take full advantage of the counterweight. I have rotated the joystick to free up the bearing. Please be very specific. I hear if done properly, using the counterweight makes these rests as slick as snot..I shoot SR/LR BR.........Thank You for your input............. seb

Hi Rick,
Thank you sir for choosing the Mini-X for your shooting needs!
The standard Mini-X, same as the standard Neo or the Neo-X, are designed / equipped with uplift springs to compensate for the rifle weight on the top.
If you use a counterweight, the uplift springs should be removed.

Yes for BR shooting using counterweight is recommended, it's more fluid/smooth.
(My biggest market is the F-Class, that is why I don't use/offer counterweight for F-Class rest, it's too "busy")
I never heard someone use a counterweight on the Mini, too, so far. Thank you for yours!

To use the counterweight:
Remove the front bag, there are two allen headless screws on the top plate, remove these screws (use 4mm allen wrench) and the uplift spring inside. Put back the screws and the bag in place.
Put/secure the counterweight on the front side, towards the target.
Put your rifle on the top/bag, with rear bag as usual (better to do it on a bench/table top), adjust the "ring(s)" on the shaft back and forth (use just one ring, depends on the weight of your rifle LG/HG?) and find the balance (=means that the force to move the joystick up & down to be equal).
The standard counterweight will work for rifle from about 10 lbs up to 25 lbs.
That's it all.

Please don't mess with the tension screws in the front, or the others. The rest is "ready to go".
You might probably need to twist the joystick 2-3 full rotations (any direction) before you use the rest.
