Seating VLD bullets into the case?

Is there any problems noted with seating a long VLD type bullet deeper into the case (past the neck/shoulder junction)?

Not a problem other than encroaching on powder capacity.

Have you tried soft seating or jamming the VLD?

I agree with Mr Moran, I think the neck shoulder junction acts as a pinch point as the brass is shot and thickens in this area. This will interfere with the release of the bullet and give pressure variance from case to case. It is ideal to be ahead of this junction with the bearing surface using only approx 3/4 of the neck for this reason.
