need someone to reduce the trigger pull on a Remington 37. Has the latest trigger but still over two pound pull.
thanks

Maybe a long shot in the dark,

The NRA once sold two (at least) books on firearms assembly.

These books had illustrated parts breakdowns and some
disassembly and assembly instructions.

I suspect you could adjust your trigger---if the M37 is in the
book---and you had the real article in hand.

Might be worth a try,

A. Weldy

thanks Lucky Shooter, I will try to find some information on it. Done everything that I can think of but I am sure there are other tricks to try.

The 37 and its latest trigger gave Winchester fits over competition with the 52. Considered way mo betta. Somewhere I have a service bulletin on them. I'll try and dig it up. Might have factory trigger adjustment info. Just a thought, if it wont go below 2 pounds, maybe it is full of dried oil turned to sludge. Been known to happen...

I cleaned with lighter fluid, but 2 pounds is about the lowest it will go. Found a trigger assist that brings it down some. going to try it the next time I have a chance to do some shooting. Thanks.

If its really gunky lighter fluid wont get it. Sometimes the springs get rusty in their bores and nothing frees them up but taking it apart and manually cleaning it. Carb dip and ultrasonic work too, sometimes.

There was a smith in Missouri years ago named Butch Hongisto (or close to that) who did 37 triggers. I have a rifle that he had done and pull is just under 1#. It's been a long time since I've shot that rifle and it's buried in the back of one of my safes, but if I remember correctly, he used a roller bearing modification that was originally published in the "American Rifleman" back in the late 50's.

No idea if Butch is still around. I met and talked to him at the St. Louis BR club maybe 2004 or so.
