SCPRC Pics 4

SF340Driver-Mr.Wahlmeier who took another 2nd place this year. Both he and Mr.Reynolds kept their same standings as last year, what luck. But I still think he wants that Gold Coin

Vu Pham from Nor-Cal, hit both is cold bore shots on day 1 & 2. This years day two cold bore shot was a repeat shot from 2006. It was a 108mm Clay pigeon at about 325 yards+ at about a 10*down angle. In 2006 7 out of 22 shooters made the hit, this year 12 out of 34 shooters made the hit. Once we hit the 50% or higher mark then I know it's time to change. However, we are still in the 30% bracket on this shot. Good Job Vu.

This is textbook shooting; working the bolt, maintaining a solid cheek weld and keeping an eye on the next target. Good job Phil.

It all ends here. At the end of the day it is what it is and you hope it was enough to get to the table. In this case there was a plenty bounty thanks to our very gracious sponsors. Please let them know

Spaniard--

Looks like you ran a great event. Some pretty high-tech tricks there--like the stop buttons.

Great Photos! Hopefully you also grabbed a bit of video we can put on the Daily Bulletin.

Is this a come-up chart Vu Pham has on his arm? >>

BTW, cold bore shot at 300+ on a 108mm,4.25") target is VERY impressive. That's shows a man who knows his rifle and has his "slope dope" right on.

The shooter with the bullet card is Mike Cecil of CS Gunworks up North. Vu is the guy where I am behind who is shooting downhill to his Cold Bore of 325 yards at the clay pigeon.

Some folks don't think that the 10*-15* slope makes a difference, but it does. I don't argue with people about, since they know. However, when they hold dead center without making the proper corrections and miss, I just walk away and go to the next shooter.

It was a good match, not free from defects, we had a scoring snafu but with Vu's help,IT GUY) we got it straightend out.

Murhpy always stops by, little weasle, he just shows up whenever he wants.:p

Spaniard,
What range was this shot on and where is it located? I have a cousin who likes this kind of game and lives in the Santa Barbara area. I wanted to send him some information about the match and the location.

Thanks,

TDK

The Match is an annual match held in July at West End Gun Club. It is called the SCPRC; Southern California Precision Rifle Competition. This was our third, and it was a great time, with 34 shooters from all over the US.

The Cold bore for day one was 225yds at a clay pigeon,108mm) shot of a tripod. Slope of about 10* degrees.

Day two, same clay pigeon at 325 yards at 15* slope. Most shoot right over the top. I would hold low around the bottom 1/3 area myself with corrections.

The official website is socalprc.com and I am working on the webs latest pictures. I should have it done sometime next week.
