Scope???

Has anyone tried a rifle scope on their TC pistols? I just got my first encore pistol and Im looking for the best scope choice...and i tend to like a high power optic. I will be shooting mostly off of a bipod and I havent shot the pistol much yet but it seems that im tending to get pretty close to the sights, dont have a scope mounted on it yet). This gave me the idea of the rifle scope, but i certainly dont know if it would work. So i would REALLY APPRECIATE anyones experiance/opinion. I dont want to end up buying twice because i didnt ask around first.

That depends on the recoil of the pistol. Most of the good target scopes have about 3 inchs of eye relief. The extended eye relief scope are the way to go. I saw my friend shoot a dot with the 223 xp100. It was all under 1/2 inch off the bags with a 223 cal. at 100yds I hope this helps.

If your getting to close with irons, you'll end up with a scope cut if you put a rifle scope on it... I have a few on XP's chambered in 22 & 6br but they don't recoil like a 22/250 because of the stock weight.
The 3x12 Burris pistol scope is a very well made scope and I use a few of them on my TC's.....

Leupold 2.3-8x EER is the only way to go. I have seen too many of the Burris 3-12x fail plus the eye relief goes to pot at 12x and the clarity is not good at all. The Leupolds can take a beating without any problems.
