Scope with reticle for long range .22 plinking and varmints

Something I do for practice and fun is plink at 100-200 yards with a scoped Sako finnfire Range .22 rifle.

My current scope is a 30mm Nikko with a plex reticle which works well for varmin control at and around the rifle's zero of 50 yards. Beyond that, hold over is not exactly repeatable 'a bit more than a third down' that kind of thing.

I've got mildot scopes but the mildot element really only covers the central part of the reticle and I'm looking for recommendations of a scope/reticle which will give me graduations on the lower half of the elevation wire all the way to where it meets the circumference.

I know I could wind the turret up/down but I want to utilise hold-over points for when vermin shooting.

Recommendations please chaps?

Sounds like you'd be happy with a couple of the Nightforce reticles, e.g. their NP-R1 and NP-R2.

See them here: http://www.nightforceoptics.com/RETICLES_OVERVIEW/reticles_overview.html

As much as I like my NF scopes... I'd have to say I think they're just a wee bit of overkill for a .22LR @ 100-200yds

The Burris Ballistic-Plex reticle might be one option, but from the sounds of your description of your issues w/ a mil-dot... it almost sounds like you are looking more for a 'grid' type reticle like the Horus Vision scopes...

Heck i love my rapid reticle for just this application. www.rapidreticle.com

I use it on a Ruger Charger and am getting 4-6' gps. @ 200 yds. with an 80 yd. zero and i'm not at the bottom of the reticle.
