Scope ring height for Kelbly panda

I’m going to be ordering a Nightforce competition for my Kelbly Fclass Panda build and I couldn’t find any info.

I was wondering what height rings I would need to clear the nightforce with a straight barrel. Going to be going with the ultralite rings as well. The panda has the 20mph rail built in. I would love to take measurements but my action won’t be ready until October

I would, ask Kelblys and Nightforce.

Personally for shooting off rests, I like to have my scopes mounted far above the barrel, so that my head position is up higher, not having to have my head positioned so low into the rifle.

With that said, typically will use rings that are "Extra High" (like the 1.26" height rings referenced below):

I think it's been addressed but the Pandas with a NF BR would cause the bolt to hit the magnification ring on them. Most people scalloped and polished the bolt handle for clearance. Since then, I've gone almost exclusively to the Harrell's offset scope rings. Love them! No down sides. Don't pay attention to anyone saying they change poi with distance. That's just not true. Look them up. You'll fall in love with them if you try a set. They solve any issue with the bolt interfering with the scope...that a big bonus.

Lol, I forgot about that bump I ground off my 12x42 NF BR many ears ago. I left my bolt handle alone.

That’s interesting. It that specific to the BR model? Or all NF?

Also this is the Fclass model with the 20 MOA pic rail if that makes a difference over the dovetail

I think just the BR model but not sure. It was a common thing on a 30BR HV Panda, for a few years.

Personally, I would not preemptively purchase rings based on someone's suggestion before your rifle is complete. The idea behind scopes and rifles is to maintain the scope as close to the bore axis and possible before any mechanical interference. You need to determine "your" position behind your gun, not someone else's on theirs. Couple of things... what will be your eye relief diatance on the scope? Are you planning on using the sunshield or shields? Are you using a mirage shield of any kind? "Hope so". That will have go clear the scope too. A canted scope rail plays into this. Go to Amazon and order low end 30mm rings in different heights to sample and narrow your search. I use a pair of low-height junk rings and shims in assorted heights that I made. Hope you find what you need.

Very good point that I did not consider. I guess it’s a good reason to 3D print some test rings!

Greetings,
I have two Panda F-Class actions and use the Kelbly medium height rings initially with Vortex GE and now with NF Competition scopes. No issues / interference with a straight 1.25" barrels. Bolt handle clearance is close, but does not hit scope.
Good luck,
John

In case someone has the same question in the future. Ian said he runs the 1.265. Nightforce said run the 1.5

Have a Kelby Panda with a Vortex Golden Eagle . Had the similar issue of the Bolt bumping the scope , even after using the Burris 1.25" XTR Signature Rings . As long as I don't slam the Bolt open , it's not a issue .
