I am looking to buy a new scope and would appreciate any input. This will be for a rifle to shoot out to 600yds, maybe farther as I get better at it. It will be informal target with friends and loser buys the rounds after. The rifle will also be used for hunting deer and elk. My problem is my budget. The absolute most I can spend is about $700. I want something with tactical turrets and decent glass. I would love to have a Nightforce but realize with my budget I can not have one right now. I have heard good things about the new Nikons but from what I've seen some come with target turrets, but not tactical ones. Can tactical turrets be installed by Nikon? If so, and if anyone has had this done, how much do they charge? I have heard that Leupold also does this. Would I be better off finding a used VX-III and having the turrets installed? I know these are a lot of questions, I just don't want to throw down my hard earned cash and not end up with what I want. The rifle will not be finished for about another six weeks so I have some time. Any help is appreciated.
