Scope problems

I'm having problems with a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20 target scope or at least I think it is the scope. When windage is dead on at 100 yards it is about 2" right at 200 and 4-5" right at 300 without changing anything except the paralax focus. I don't touch the elevation nobs at all. Is something wrong with the scope or is it in the mounting?

Your scope is mounted crooked. No kidding.

Is your rear scope base windage adjustable? If so, problem is easy to fix.

Move the rear of your scope to the left.

To begin with, center the left/right adjustment of your scope. You need to count the number of revolutions and clicks.

Center the know AND mark it.

Mount the scope. Fire it. Now, move the rear of the scope in the direction needed. I prefer to fire at 300 yards when centering a scope. ...and I use a BIG piece of paper!!!

This is one of THE hardest concepts to talk people through...in person.

You are dealing with THREE points...that all need to be in alignment - bore of the barrel, front scope mount and rear scope mount.

Thanks a million. I had reasoned it to that point but just needed someone to confirm. I'm new to some of this stuff and really appreciate forums like this. I live in a rural area and not a lot of precision shooters near by.

If the scope is not truly straight in the rings, i.e. canted reticle, which way would the scope be canted if it was shooting to the right? Thanks
