scope problem.

just sighted in new scope on 6br had it 1"high@100yds then went to 200yds and found it shoots 1"to the right when corrected and go back to 100yds it shoots to the left,am i right in thinking the scope is not in line with the barrel?
bases and rings are leupold.

Remember that the effect of the wind at 200 yards is roughly FOUR TIMES the drift at 100 yards. So, if you only have 1/4" drift at 100 yards you will have 1" at 200 yards.

If the scope has a canted reticle or if the gun is canted while being shot, that can also cause point of impact to move sideways.

I would check for canting first. This is one of the MOST common problems I see with the guys in my group of hunters. A scope level, even a cheap one) will pay dividends once you have the scope on straight! You don't have to buy a "level grouse" or one of the other $100+ dollar scope levels out there . . . but if you're hunting game outside of a couple hundred yards then you ought to have one on your rifle scope. Just my opinion. Good luck.
