Scope options 600-1,000 yards?

Hello all, I'm new to the long range game and am trying to figure out the best scope for my application and budget. I will be mounting it on a 6bra and shooting locally (600-1,000yrds) mostly for fun at paper and a few local br matches at my club. I want to stay around $600 new or used doesn't matter as long as it works as needed. Also I'd like to try MRad and a ffp. Any suggestions?

If you shoot paper at 600-1000 why would want FFP? MRad? and a reliable scope for long range is beyond the 600.00 range...... jim

Sometimes you’ll see a used sightron siii 10-50 for a bit more than that. That’s probably where I’d start.
Or you could get something like a weaver fixed 36.
Might be a good idea to save up a bit more so you have more options.

I agree that $600 will limit you but I started out with a 6-24 Vortex PST and I didn't come in last, and was in the top 3 several times when shooting some informal matches. Since that time I found a good deal on a Nightforce ATACR, and it is a big improvement, but I still use the Vortex once in a while.
Look around and you can find the pre-II PST on sale close to your price point. Another one is the Bushnell XRS and Burris XTR series of scopes.

My guess would be to find a used Sightron 10-50x60 siii they are in the 750 range.... and you can get them repaired, they have excellent service.... jim

I've competed at both those distances with Sightrons 8-32x56 1/4 moa clicks, it's a very good scope i still have it as my back up.

I take my sightron stac 4x20 out to 1,025 with no issues. I would recommend just a good quality scope with at least 20 power will work. My vortex razer 4.5×27 was about just as good but a lot more money.

+1 for a used sightron SIII 10-50 or 8-32.

Maybe a used Leupold 40x or 45x?

My first F-Open match i shot with a Sightron STAC 4-20X50. $450
Enough magnification to let you see the mirage. Not so much the mirage was over powering.
I'm shooting shorter more precision oriented matches now.
Picked up a used Sightron SIII 10-50X60. $750
Huge improvement! I'd highly recommend!

My Sightron 8-32 with 1/4 MOA and crosshair dot is more than adequate for 1000 yard paper shooting. $600 used in mint condition.

New Weaver 36X will come in under budget and every one I've tested has been solid.

After getting so overwhelmed and frustrated at all the options I just ended up buying a vortex diamondback 6-24. All of the reviews raved over it. So I hope it will be ok to start out with...
