Schmidt & Bender does this look right?

A local guy has this for sale it looks like some kind of coating on it. I have the serial number from it gonna call S&B tomorrow to verify, clarify and confirm. Its a 2.5x10x56 but man Im nervous if there are knock offs out there

I'm no S&B expert, but it is obviously an older scope as it says "West Germany" ...according to Google the Berlin Wall fell on November 9, 1989.

Hope the price is right, best of luck!

Pretty good optics for the money, probably the only difference in the optics would be the newer scopes may have better coatings helping color rendition and low light performance.
 
On older European optics you need to measure the tube and verify the diameter, some were 26mm and rings are hard to find. Probably a killer piece of glass but it seems a bit pricy for the age.
 
Not listed on their site, but Talley used to make 26mm rings. I was actually there today picking up a couple of things.

Be worth calling and asking if someone needs some...
