How does the optics of these compare to the Nightforce 12x55 or that big Valdada that Bart used at the TackDriver?

I have had and have alot of SB glass including the pmii. Great glass good equipment but the NF comp is way brighter.... way may be overstating but better. With that said , I never had any issues with tracking and return to zero with a SB.

If I was in an end of the world scenario I would take my 12x50 pm2
I own both the nightforce and S&B, the nightforce are great as long as you can send it to Idaho to get it fixed, i say this as I’m packing up a ATACR to be sent back my third nightforce return in 5 years, my S&B has never been back in 6 years…..jmtcw

Several years back at a gun show they had 5 scopes lined up
at the back doors. This was a freight door with rail siding. You
could see down those tracks for a good 3 miles. You filled out
a card with your opinions after looking down these 5. At the
end of the day, the public rankings had Kahles beating out
S&B, and with the new, just out, Bushnell XRS beating out Night
force. Leupold finished in last.

Jackie, It was the Kahles K1050 that was the demo

In a way, my single purpose use for a scope of this type will be sort of an end of the world scenario. The Tackdriver.

At this years match, I mounted a Nightforce 12x55 on my 6PPC. It Was great untill the sun finally came out Sunday morning. During the last Score target and Group target, I could not see my bullet holes or for that matter, much of the target.

I might as well invest in a scope with optics good enough to do the deed, combined with rock solid adherence to point of impact.

as a Short Range Shooter, optics has always been secondary. Adequate was good enough as long as the thing was rock solid.

The Tackdriver is unique. It will take the very finest in a scope to have the bases covered.

Thanks for that info.
March D80V56 You can always turn it down to 8X if them holes
look to big !!

You thinking about making 30 cal bullets yet ??
I have several March High Master 48x scopes on my Short Range Group Rifles.

Their glass takes a a backseat to NightForce.

As for the 30 caliber bullets, I have been making my own for over a year.

S&B scopes are on the most critically important rifles in the world, the top end of the rifles that individuals don’t actually own. The 50x is more scope internally than is ever needed for competition and recreational shooting, which makes it either a waste of the last $1,000 it costs, or, exactly what you need to have, depending on one’s mindset.

S&B doesn’t fool around with mid level and the low end of the market. They don’t have scopes that cover a 20 fold price band like Leupold does. You never have to wonder where their designers found some parts commonality, or determined where cheap works well. They have no farmed-out middling line like Nightforce and so many of the Europeans. Even USO has caved in and diluted its brand, with a naming strategy that frankly insults our intelligence.

That 50x you ask about is my favorite Fclass scope, between a number of NF and a 80x March, I also use. My end of the world choice would be the Premier Heritage 25x or 15x. A scope so hellbent on being good that the company went under focusing on it.
