Schmidt and Bender - Marine Corps

Broncazonk

When the 7mm talks: the conversation ends.
I just heard a rumor that the Marine Corps and Schmidt and Bender are parting ways? Nothing more than that...

Anyone with a confirmation and details?

I guess S&B had some quality control issues BUT I'm sure there is more to this story... u.s build, large quantities, s&b not changing anything for 25 years ;), etc.

If anyone has more info please post. I personally was not impressed with NF-NXS units.
Sounds like it was built for marines and not commercially available. Maybe even same glass as the Competition in them. The Competition has the best and clearest glass of all scopes. I owned most the best scopes on the market and the comp is the clearest. Matt

A marine sniper told me when NF came out they would take off the Sand B and replace it sometimes out of pocket. The problem was not scope function but durability and hard to repair in field. I have several models of each and the 7x35 NF glass just almost caught up with sandb. They were so busy making scopes for the military they raised the prices so high on their benchmark 5x25x56 it got;riced out of the civilian market. Then military demand got caught up and the PM model prices dropped like a rock. They are a great buy now and worth every penny...if I could only have one it would be a higher end NF like atacr.....

Best try a new Sightron SV series. They are as clear and they are brighter and have 70 min. of elevation. Parallax is geared down for fine adj. and when you dial out the Parallax the mirage goes away. The down side they are heavy...They have clicks, I can hear and that says a lot..... jim

Most NF’s have over a hundred MOA. Elevation...again, it’s all about purpose of scope..a sniper does not want to hear clicks...just feel them..
I own a bunch also. If you are talking about the NF Competitions they do have great glass but the clearness is because they are all 2nd focal plane scopes which will allways be mostly be clearer...

I’ll ck out
Sightron...

12- 42 doesn't have 50 the NF 15-55 isn't close either, the only one I have that is a 100 is a NF. 2.5 -10 x 32...... jim

You are right on the Competition models. My 8x32 only has 50. At the Nightforce home page I clicked on several NXS and atcr models and they were all over 100 moa with the actcar 5x25x56 at 120....don’t know why the competitions are different...

1/8 click adjustments in the Competitions. Matt
