I am 10 minutes from Cabelas/Bass Pro, I drive 40 minutes to Scheels. Been several years since I went into my local C/BP.

I had the pleasure of going in two Scheels stores on a trip to Wyoming a few years ago. I was very impressed with the inventory and prices.
Too bad they haven't spread this far east yet.

I like Scheels. Picked up some gun cleaning stuff from them the other day and the staff was super friendly.

Scheels is an employee owned company that’s why service is so good & people are much more knowledgeable when you need help .

A Scheel's (Great Falls Mt.) sales person spent quite a bit of time with us explaining the difference in models of Swarovski binoculars, On the way back thru we stopped and bought a pair, two of us already had them.
They have knowledgeable people, not just children, working there. Billing MT has a number of prairie dog shooters in the gun dept. No great deals, but they do have expertise, better than high prices and no product knowledge.

Wife son and I spent at least 2 hrs in the Scheel’s in Rapid City SD. I couldn’t get over how many nice employees ask how you and can I help you. Wife and I bought kayaking life jackets. Salesman was a serious kayaker and spent 30 minutes with us.

Scheels is one of my shooting sponsors. Good company with great employees. I shoot with several guys from my local store and they are all great people. Those I do mot know are helpful and friendly.

I think bass pro who owns cabelas have slipped a little they never have what I want and the employees are not as knowledgeable as the employees at Scheels so I been shopping mostly at scheels

I have yet to be close to a Sportsman Warehouse. From what I have heard and read sounds like it was a heck of a place a few years back, but still ok today.
