SCATT Electronic Shooting Trainers, Olympic grade trainer.

Gentlemen,
I am new to this forum, but I want to share this info with all of you, shooting fans :). SCATT electronic shooting trainers will be officially distributed in the USA now.

If you don't know what is SCATT - it is an electronic training system that allows you to receive instant visual feedback about your entire aiming, shot, and post-shot movement. I allows you to see and analyze even the most subtle errors in your movements, steadiness, attention, trigger release, etc.
The system is widely used in the shooting sport, especially by the top-level Olympic shooters, including a myriad of Olympic champions.
The official US distributor is SCATT USA in Miami, Florida.

Here is a picture of basic system setup:

Initial "out of the box" set up takes about 10-15 min. When it's done starting up each training session is a matter of seconds.

The SCATT system has been available in US for some time by several vendors. What is the difference now and specifically who will be providing cutomer service and tech advice in Florida?

Thanks - Dennis L

Dennis the difference is that now Scatt is attempting to create a coherent official distribution with the entire range of products for the American market, not just occasional imported batches by resellers. Which in the future should include a service center and potentially even partial production and/or assembly in USA. For the nearest term simple questions can be addressed by the distributor in Miami and more complicated tech advice will be provided directly from Russia.

From the literature online, it seems that Scatt is meant for UIT competitors. Does it have targets simulating US NRA 200yd and 600yd targets?

The system offers every conceivable target you can imagine. However, the center is still the center and it doesn't matter what the target happens to be since you are still just aiming at a black dot across the room. The value of the trainer is the information provided about your hold. I recommend use of the 50 Meter international target because this provides an expanded picture of the tracing, especially when you highlight just the 9 and 10 rings of the target. I use that for my smallbore and palma rifles. For my purposes, way too much detail is lost when using a 1000 yard palma target for example.

Dennis, I think that the size and type of target matters. The size of the aiming black is different and scoring rings are different. You want to compare your wobble area to the rings on the target. If you are training for a specific discipline, you want to measure progress and compare it to actual matches. If I were to use the Scatt, it would be used for offhand practice which for NRA competitions uses the 200yd target.

Certainly nothing amiss in what you indicate. In terms of day-in and day-out practice, I have found that the ability to zoom on the 50 meter target provides the largest and clearest delineation of the tracing because that is zoomed proportionally as well. Much easier to tease out variations with the larger visual reference. When you zoom on the 100-1000 yard targets, the tracings can be still appear small. It is something easier to see on the unit than to describe verbally.

At any rate, something for everyone. The wobble in standing can be really impressive and, to some, rather dismaying!

Currently we do not have the aforementioned NRA targets. However, we have the ICFRA tr standard 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1000 yards targets available.

Any plans to include the US NRA targets?

The Raabs, (Center Shot) one of the importers of the SCATT, have some NRA pistol and rifle targets, you can download them from their site, last I checked.
