Scarborough or Scoville LV / HV

Just curious. Has anyone used their 3 inch LV Scarborough or Scoville stock on a HV 171b setup? If so, how does it handle.

I could easily make weight with a heavier scope and add weight in the backend of the stock.

Thanks
Charles

Why a Scoville? How old are you? My buddy was waiting 3 years for his stock....before his action was lost by LB. Still waiting.

Some liars will lie to your face, other liars will climb a tree and lie to you.......
Either Scoville or Scarborough used to make 10.5.

Fixed it- ibs 17lb
I have one. I put a hv barrel on it, a picatinny weight, a stainless picatinny rail, a terminator scope, and a tungsten weight in the back. The lv designed rifle becomes a 17lb light gun. Bart uses a hv designed stock, big scope and big barrel in the light gun class. You can add weight quickly, its hard to take it away

To further this question about making a short range Scarbough into a 17pound HG. I know Bart has done this. I wonder if Bart pillar bedded or “glued and screwed” his action in. Most all of the short range Scarbrough/ Scoville’s are just “glue in’s” that I have seen. A 28 inch HV might be too much for a glue in. Plus the extra recoil and torque of a long range barrel may be a lot for a glue in. I talking about a short range 22 inch 13.5tw PPC shooting 68g bullets vs a 28 inch 8tw 6BRA shooting 103-108 grainers.

Great questions. Maybe @BartsBullets will chime in on this.

I have shot quite a few 30br rounds through my glued in LV Bat 3l. Quite a bit of torque and recoil but it shoots dots and I have seen no harm to it.

I have 2 HV Scarborough’s and 2 LV Scarborough stocks. They are all glued and screwed with Bat DS actions. I’ve shot all of them for long rang competition with 28 inch barrel and a heavy scope (Terminator or Precision) with a weight screwed into the butt of the stock.

@Ccrider youre getting off cheap I dumped over 20K into it before I figured out I already had what I needed.

Both are pretty stiff for no more than they weigh.

I hand never been a fan of adding non performance items to a light gun to get it to weight. Then I came across a 24 ounce Robertson Stock. I didn’t need another LV, so I made a pretty nice weight system that got it up to 13+ pounds. I wanted everything removable so I could take it back 10.5 pounds in the future.

The thing mounts a Bat Neuvo Action 30 BR and shoots great

I mounted 4 brass fitted rectangles in the forearm slots, and made a rather chunky brass butt plate with a hard foam recoil pad. I used another 1/8 thick brass plate on the other side.

It all came out pretty good. 66E17C58-4507-4417-B475-7F4E322C54DB.jpeg38DCAF28-CCC1-4458-94F5-B527960A8466.jpeg50A643E0-00CF-435D-98E6-BEBB698B85A7.jpeg

You can put weight in a good spot easily by making a picatinny riser from heavy stuff, getting a stainless rail from bat instead of aluminum, and getting a honking scope like a terminator. I turned my 10.5 scarbough into a very heavy gun with these, a hv barrel, heavy tuner and the tungsten weight in the back.
