Scammers

Are scammers common these days ?Been a while since I’ve been on this great forum. Reached out to a couple posts regarding some rifles for sale and wake up to two DMs saying they’ve got exactly what I need. Don’t recall this being common back in the day

The other day I posted I'll take to a add on this site, a scammer emailed me claiming to be the seller and wanted me to pay with Zelle.

I thought something was fishy because I never sent seller my email.
I already received the item from the real seller and the scammer is still emailing me to see if im still interested.
I will no longer post I'll take it and just pm all correspondence to the OP.

I was about to ask the same question. A few months ago had some items listed and I just re-recently listed a scope. It seems that a lot of new members with zero feedback keep asking me very stupid questions like what is the price or what reticle does a scope have. It’s listed multiple times very plainly in the listing. Is this some sort of scam or is you just newbie tire kickers? I don’t see how it’s a scam, but I just can’t figure it out.

Just for fun, take a look at Scammerpayback on YouTube. He busts them all the time and it's kinda fun to watch!

If there's anything that raises 'red flags' from a buyer or seller, best advice is to tell them you're not interested.

How did they get your email? Did you include it with your “I’ll Take It”?
A PM directly to the seller is the only place to start and then a phone call to go onward…
Just as recommended by the Forum Boss at the start of all the things advertised here and especially related to firearms… Never use Zell, “Family & Friends” Pain-Pal ect…

No idea, I just posted I'll take it nothing else on the open forum, but it could be in a post I've made sometime in the last 20 years that I've been a member here
