I've often heard people extol the virtues of load development at the range. It makes sense. So I packed up all my stuff, dragged it to the range, and found that my portable scale would fluctuate by more than 2 grains with even the lightest breeze. Almost all the powders I use are extruded and won't meter well, so weighing is essential. How do people get around this? Has anyone had any luck with using an FX-120i on battery power?

Here is what I've been doing. Weigh at home, but don't commit to the case until at the range. This is an MTM ammo box, prongs in the wells drilled out w/1/2" bit, with some 5ml cryogenic vials. 91mm x 12mm. Each case of 100 runs approx $55 (case + vials).

Ive been wondering the same thing... It's not open, there is a wide o-ring up in the cap blocking the hole.

I believe Bart was selling clear boxes that a scale sets in. Most of the load at the range crowd have them at the tack driver.

I recently picked up Barts Garage and it’s definitely a well built piece of equipment
I haven’t tried it at the gun range yet but if you load or test at the gun range it’s a must have.
