Velcro on the deflector will solve that.

If the dents are further down the casing well below the shoulder, then it's hitting the rear of the port and demands a different solution.

No its just the case mouth and its not that bad just gets em out of round

Nice rifle are you shooting 150 grain bullets ? Also nice job on the brass , the only thing I would be careful not to load to hot . What if that brass was from some reloader who bent up the necks because they reached the end of his reloads on those cases . Just start off slow . I was left a 1903 Rock Island barrel an action only , My late Uncle brought it back from the Korean War , barrel looked unused . Had to buy everything else to bring it back to a rifle . Shot bugholes at 100 yards . My Son in Law used it on his first White tail hunt and shot a 8 pointer first time out . Well it's his baby now but it was a great rifle to shoot . What I remember it liked a 150 grain HP for target shooting .

Yes to the 150 grain bullets, 47.5 grains of IMR 4895 clocked just at 2700 F.PS.

This brass I will load light, and use some 110 grain bullets, then go to my M2 ball clone loads

These old G.I. bolt guns are a hoot to shoot

I found my Smith Corona 03A3 as a semi sporter, no holes drilled in the receiver, dove tail is on the rifle......buddy coughed up the parts to "uncivilize" it......

But sadly.....the original 1943 barrel is bent, and needs replaced, darn shame as it gauges "0+" at both the muzzle and throat
