Savave PTA 30-06?

Thinking about a new build.......aren't we all?........Has anyone chambered a Savage PTA in 30-06? Is the port big enough to handle a long round like that. I had a Savage PTA in 308 and sure wish I had not let it go. Oh well.

You could load it but you would have to pull a live round by removing the bolt I believe.You could also have a gunsmith open the port slightly for clearance if there is enough room.

You will definitely have to pull the bolt to remove a loaded round. I had to do that to remove 284 Winchester rounds loaded with 180 Berger Hybrids.
