Savage Target Action w/ 6oz Accutrigger

I originally had my Accutrigger set for 6oz, but found that if I didn't pull STRAIGHT back it would dis-engage. Maybe my form is all wrong, but even when all the stars are aligned I still have the problem. Has anyone modified one to try and take some of the side to side play out, or am I going in the wrong direction on this. I have increased my pull weight up for now to alleviate the problem, but would like to use the 6oz setting if I can get it stone cold reliable.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill: My son and I both had the problem when first using the "accu-triggers". When we finally realized what we were doing, and now keep the trigger finger flat across the face of the trigger, the way it should be anyway), have never had the problem.

Bill, When Savage first came out with their Accu-trigger I purchased a 243 BVSS and my buddy a 223 BVSS . His trigger was far superior to mine, you could turn his all the way down and it wouldn't drop the firing pin, but to get mine to function properly my gunsmith had to change out the springs. I've since purchased three of their target action and not had any trouble turning them all the way down.

I have no doubt that my form may be a little less than perfect... :D Maybe it can become a good training tool for me at 6oz! I'm still curious about the play in the trigger. It did seem like their was more side to side play than you expect to see. Didn't know if anyone had tried shimming on the sides to firm things up?

Increase the weight, the six oz trigger doesn't work well, consistantly) until it's ~12 oz. I like a light trigger but the target accutrigger doesn't function properly at 6 oz. FWIW!
