I have searched old threads and can't find the answer. Looking through the internet searching for a chassis reasonably priced. I can't find a savage target action or 4.40 spaced one that dosen't have a magazine. Can anyone tell me if there is one made for a single shot target action or 4.40. Without mag

Contact Craig at PDC Custom. Let him know what you are looking for.

I've been building on MDT chassis with PTA's for years. I machine a
block of aluminum that fits into the mag well then bolt it in place.
I transfer the center third screw to this block. Most recently I've been
building on the Oryx chassis doing this......Here's a no longer made
MDT-HS3 I did sometime back.

I would love to have some to tear apart and compare to my 2 blueprinted Savage 12FV's! Do some careful measurments. We never really get anything remotely based on facts and what can be measure. It would be nice to have something more tangible than " I like mine!" if you know what I mean!

What kind of blue printing did you do?

I will say I did not know how many people hate Savages.

I did not know about the flaws with the extractor and ejector parts that has been well documented and on going for decades!

All of the above said none of that would have stoped me from going the route I went. I just would have liked to have been more informed.

Here is another of my center screw blocks on my MDT Oryx Chassis.

My McRee's Precision G7-4.4 PTV chassis. Made for the Savage Target Action with 4.4 action screw spacing, no mag well. Right hand bolt, Magpul MOE+ grip. Happens to be for sale too....
Rather heavy, 5+ pounds with the fore end bag rider. Was used for F-Class and it worked well in that application.
