Barrel channel at the forend is 1 inch. It has pillars. The stock itself is very rubbery feeling like these over molded stocks are.

Would this stock convert over to an older LA blind/internal mag stock ?

Sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure. One of the pieces is a blind mag piece of bottom metal. The one installed is allows a mag. Do you know what the spacing on the screws is on yours? Savage shooters website indicates that all long action screw spacing is the same. Check yours and see if it matches the diagram located here:
