Savage Staggered Feed Drop Bottom Magazines

jbpmidas

MR F-T/r
I have a Savage stagered feed action that I want a magazine feed system for. I have talked with CDI about their product and installation. Anyone used them before? Are there any other options out there, including complete stocks?

Thanks!

Sharpshooters supply makes their own set up as well. Is supposed to work on either stagger feed or center feed. I have no personal experience with either one, I have just looked into it a time or two but never have "pulled the trigger"

CDI bottom metal works on either staggered or centerfeed. Thay have a nice mag release lever that is easy to get to without looking or fumbling for it. You can run AI or Alpha mags which I prefer the Alpha 2 mags. I've never used Fred's stuff, just don't like the way it looks.

I do prefer the looks of the CDI. I don't really want to ship my whole rifle. They'll inlet just the stock for $60. I'm wondering how much more fitting is involved once I get the stock back. If I knew it would work flawlessly with just the stock inlet, I'd be sending my stock this week!

Just so I understand, you've sent two stocks to them for inletting and both worked without further fitting? What type of rifle and stocks?

Savage short action 4.27 screw spacing. McMillan A2 and a Bell & Carlson Medalist A2. I did not have to do anything to make then work.

Call Jeff at CDI and talk to him.

I have been emailing back and forth with Pam. I don't want to interrupt him from his work. My mind is made up. I will be going with CDI!

Thank you for your time and replies!

Sent my stock off today, to CDI. They have 5 round mags for $75 and 10 round mags for $80. Are these good prices? Where are you getting mags from?
