savage small shank single shot?

Can you.make any savage action a single shot? I have a 6br barrel that I'd like to put on a savage small shank, and instead of messing with magazines I'd make it a single shot. I know savage made a large shank target action,, but had not seen any small shank target actions.. I suppose I could buy a blind mag stock and go from there, but that really limits stocks. Any advice is appreciated.

I have a couple of Savage actions with a 3D printed single shot adapter hot glued into the magazine slot. The member I got them from isn’t really active here anymore, so I wouldn’t know where to get one now.

I have what your talking about, it was stamped as a model 111. It's a long action single shot that was originally barreled for .220 Swift. It now wears a Douglas 1:8 twist air gauge barrel in 6.5X55.

I just take a pc of thin metal and put in the mag holder slot works for me...slide it in won't move and your off to shooting

As far as I know, small shank single shot actions were mfg'd. in varmint configuration only, not on the target actions with the smaller loading port. I have built on several of the blued long actions plus both blued and stainless in short action. Make great PD rifles and not bad as prone HP rifles. Repeaters should work well with single shot adapters and you can use one of the blind magazine stocks such as the BVSS and VLP and fill in the magazine cutout to gain more bedding surface.

The model 12 single shot stainless steel Varmint action is nice. I've had one for years. It's my .308 ftr rifle. They are hard to find, but can be found......eventually.

There is a guy on ebay selling 3D printed single shot adaptors for Savage actions at about $10 each. I bought three of them to see and was impressed with how well they fit and work. He is located in Kentucky.

You can put a single shot sled into any action and make them work as a single shot. But if you are looking for a action, with no magazine cut out for a single shot set up, they are less in number, but available for the custom guys.

I like"The Original Bob Sled" for a ramp. It is a single-piece AICS aluminum block. The 308 designation works for the 6BR, Dasher, 22PPC, etc.... But for actions, id check with https://northlandshooterssupply.com/, and James has the knowledge to carry the discussion further and get you set up.
