Savage service

I purchased a savage A22 mag almost a month ago. Immediately took it home cleaned barrel, mounted a 4x scope to try out. Tried 3 different ammo types, CCI Vmax, Fiocci and Winchester. After the first shot none would cycle. Tried to manually cycle the next round and the gun jammed the round would not chamber. Same ammo works flawlessly in my CZ 512! Gun was immediately returned where I bought it and sent back to Savage. Have not had any response from Savage for about 3 weeks! Waste of money! Should have bought another CZ. If this is how savage does business I’ll never buy another savage fire arm even if it’s 90% off! Junk!

Go buy the CZ. I just bought my first Savage rimfire from Palmetto State Armory. I'm waiting on it now. If things go south for me I'll deal with it. I've owned over 20 Savage centerfire rifles. No issues at all. Good luck.

I’ve been waiting nearly a year for a replacement rifle for a sake 85 I bought new with the most atrocious barrel on a new rifle I’ve ever seen. Three weeks give them a break please.

One of my buddies bought the A17 with a 7 lb trigger. Sent the trigger in through the FFL where he bought it and got it back in about a week. Thought that was some pretty good service. I would contact them. Good luck.

They've always answered the phone when I have called them and I was satisfied with the outcome. Granted I've never had to ship a firearm back to them out of the over 20 I have owned.
I have my Savage B22 to pick up this week. I hope there is no issues. The ones I've seen in the field have functioned 100 %.

You should have sent It back directly to savage yourself. I personally have sent a gun back myself and still like them. Pm me, I will be more than happy to take that "lemon" off your hands

In my mind You took the gun back to where you bought it. The situation is now between the dealer and Savage. Savage owes you nothing...
My experience with one return with Savage was great..

Where did you but it?
If at Academy, they probably haven't sent it back yet. Don't ask how I know.
I have heard of academy taking an extreme amount of time and then even making the owner fill out another 4473 and doing another background check.... Just call the company and have them ship you an RMA and return shipping label.... Most will even ship you a box if needed... I have never let a box chain ship a weapon for me....

My pal got a cheapo Savage I got a CZ457 22 --we have been shooting both at the range for over two years
He has had constant issues with cheapo mags--had to buy a stock because the Tupperware unit was flimsy--Not Near as smooth as my CZ but..it IS accurate
CZ
Killer dead nuts accuracy with quality ammo--stunning accuracy with select lots of high quality ammo--NEVER a single issue with mags, loading, extracting, etc
Bolt smoother every week
We both slam golf balls and broken bits of clays at 150 and have fun but he bought cheap he got cheap
but--It is accurate
My Savage BVSS 223 has been half MOA with hand loads since the day I bought it--Great rifle!!

Bought a Savage in .308 a few years ago. Wouldn't group under 3" @ 100 yards. Slugged the barrel and found it was .002" bigger at the muzzle than the chamber. Shipped it back and forth 3 times and the issue was never resolved. When they sent it back last time there was a note inside that said 'Shoots within specifications'. No target was ever included.

That was my experience with Savage.

I'm making a point to let you all know that I did receive my Savage B22 and I have had 2 proven scopes on this thing and with a 50 yard zero my left over elevation adjustment is slim to almost none. So, I will be humble here and say there is a first time for everything. As I stated before I'll deal with it. I still have faith in Savage.

Just emailed Savage some pictures yesterday and followed up with a phone call. Rep on the phone took care of me within 10 mins.
Only hassle is that a FFL needs to order and receive the part, but Savage is replacing at no charge.

Best service I've had in quite some time considering no-one wants to work anymore.
