Savage Rebarrel

Who in the gunsmithing industry will chamber, thread and crown a barrel blank for my Savage 10 FCP? Most smiths will complete the work for me but want to install the barrel themselves. I can understand this, but for me putting the rifle together then seeing it perform is 90% of the enjoyment I get. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

do an internet search for savage prefit barrels. northland shooter supply, fred moreo of strictly savage shooters, pacnor, shilen and eabco are a few that i can think of. hope this helps cliffe

You might want to check Shaw barrel company site and check their offering for a Savage replacement barrel. Quite a variety of barrel contours and cartridges to choose from......price is around $160 plus $20 shipping. But expect a 3 month or so delivery time.

Whatever barrel maker you decide to go with, consider making up a dummy round so you get the chamber cut the way "YOU" want it.
Nothing worse than having a "off the shelf" reamer cut the chamber too long or short for the bullets you prefer to shoot.
Most of the barrel makers will cut to the specs you want. All you heve to do is ask. The throat can only get longer so get it cut short. ;)

I pulled the trigger on this build project so to speak. My parts list is as follows.

Nightforce 1-piece 20 MOA picatinny scope base.
Mark 4 30mm rings (steel)
Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-15 50mm, M1 turrets, TMR reticle
